China Creek Dodges the Reaper

Last night the Park Board gave their final report on their plans for the planned upgrades for China Creek South Park. The meeting was a long one, and because the Stanley Park clean-up issue was moved to first place on the agenda, there was some serious waiting around involved. But once we got our turn, things went well.

Thanks to the Park Board and everyone who wrote an e-mail or made a phone call in defense of China Creek. Next step is organizing the clean-up. I’ll be in touch.

THANK YOU to the Vancouver Skatepark Coalition, supportive neighbours, the YMCA daycare, and everyone else that attended park planning meetings, wrote letters of support to the Parks Board, and helped spread the word about the importance of saving China Creek. YOU MADE A DIFFERENCE!!

Thank you to the Vancouver Parks Board Commissioners for recognizing the importance of saving this well-used and well-loved landmark for future generations of skateboarders to enjoy, and most importantly, for helping to break stereotypes in recognizing that “SKATEBOARDING IS NOT A CRIME”
