jeff1.jpgThe Vancouver Skateboard Coalition, in cooperation with the Youth Week Committee and Kitsch Skateboards, is excited to announce the Vancouver Youth Week Skate Event, which will take place on Sunday May 6th between 1:00 and 5:00pm at The Plaza (under the Georgia Viaduct at the intersection of Union St. and Quebec St.).

Part of Vancouver Youth Week, which runs from May 1st through 7th, the Skate Event is to be a healthy promotion of skateboarding and skateboard culture geared towards the younger age demographic of Vancouver’s skateboard scene. Featuring live music, prize giveaways, a barbecue, information booths from a number of youth-oriented organizations, and a demo by Kitsch Skateboards, a Vancouver-based skateboard company, the event promises a fun and exciting day for everyone involved. For more info check out www.vancouveryouthweek.ca.

And do all of us a favour on your way there… don’t skate on the east Quebec St. sidewalk!

hi, Sarah and thanks for the note re: the Quebec St sidewalk. We notified the Citygate inter-tower committee who mentioned it, predictably. This note is a very tangible piece of education that you/we can point to. It is not only important to take preventive action like this, but we also have to be seen being proactive as well.

thanks for a fun day, yesterday.

Hi Booth. You can thank Jeff Chan who wrote the post (I just posted it,) he had the good sence to include the info about skating on the east side of Quebec street during the event.

And yesterday was a blast! So many kids even in the cold rain.
