Skateboarding an Olympic Cycling Sport?! Now It’s Starting to Make Sense
Chris mentioned below that Tony Hawk has apparently been involved in the process of trying to get skateboarding introduced to the Olympics for the past three years. And since putting together an international governing body for a sport and then trying to convince the IOC to approve a new category for said sport is an unbelievably difficult job, they’re looking into fast-tracking the process by presenting skateboarding as a sub-discipline of cycling. Sounds a tad askew, right? Well as is often the case, things tend to start making more sense when you look a bit deeper.
