Here’s an ample-sized load (thanks to BK’s Skate Daily for the heads up)… the International Olympic Committee is seriously considering adding skateboarding to the 2012 London Olympics. Maybe you’re thinking, “at least they’re giving us some measure of respect”? Well think again….
Wow, how on the mark are we over here at Coalition HQ? For months we’ve been spreading the word amongst Plaza skaters that being courteous to Citygate residents by not riding through their front yard is a good thing. Well apparently, aside from the common courtesy idea that we were promoting, there was also another reason entirely to be nice to those folks. Holy bejeezus!

Okay Vancouver skaters,
The Vancouver Skateboard Coalition just adopted Leeside and the 2400 block of Main Street (between 8th and 9th) as a part of an initiative to keep Vancouver clean and tidy. We will be receiving plaques and everything.

You’ve probably noticed a new sign up at The Plaza lately. It’s the latest part of the campaign to get skaters off the east Quebec St. sidewalk and onto the west side. There was a recent meeting about the issue and things seem to be coming along nicely.
