Killarney (Summer-Fall 2007)

Get Out! is seeking capable, enthusiastic young adults to help facilitate the development and implementation of Youth Action Teams (YAT’s) in selected communities.

Get Out’s goal is to support active youth involvement and youth-driven leadership to help engage their peers to be more active in arts, culture, sports, recreation and physical activities, projects and programs in their neighbourhoods and communities of interest.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of participatory planning,
Knowledge of current issues of adolescent youth,
Knowledge of issues of culture, language or disability would be an asset
Sound written and verbal communications skills
Sign language (ASL)- experience with deaf or hard-of-hearing youth, or Mandarin language skills would be an asset
Ability to engage and support youth leaders and youth participation
Ability to build healthy relationships with youth
Ability to help develop relationships amongst youth in the YAT, and with other youth
Ability to facilitate and coordinate youth activity independently
Please note: successful applicants must complete a police record clearance check.

Details:

5 to 6 months (ranges from June 2007 to Dec 2007 or later, by mutual agreement)
Contract position with a local community non-profit agency
Compensation: $ 250 per month for up to 5 months
Note: Minimum one weekly activity per week (up to 4 hours) plus 1 special event/month

Data Entry

• Entering of seasonal pre-booked and at once orders
• Entering of promotional orders, receiving PO’s
• Assisting sales, customer service, logistics and allocation with additional duties

Other Duties

• Working with inventory reports
• Running and manipulating sales data reports
• Order confirmations
• Assisting with return authorizations and warranty reports

Skills

• Experience using data entry systems
• Microsoft Excel a must
• Organization and time management to observe and adhere to tight deadline schedules
